Have packed the car and am ready to go. Planning on getting up early and head to Scarborough in Narragansett before dawn. If need be will take a chance with no parking signs as the beach will still be closed upon my arrival. Checked parking regulations and the fine for parking in a prohibited area is $35 and does now mention towing.....

Matunuck, RI was nice today. 5.2s, floaty boards. Parking was tight, but worth the wait. Here's a shot of Antoine I borrowed from FB.

No surf at Pleasant Bay, but a decent NE direction gave 5 of us a nice afternoon.
This morning looks good too!

zeppy, looking good! This thing is not over. Tuesday morning may be good. Wind was dead offshore today so no go for me.
Lars, how was Scarborough?

no overhead waves but a stiff chop on pleasant bay this morning. I hung in with a 3.7 for almost an hour. Nothing flashy - back and fourth and concentrating on making the turns.

Spent all of Labor Day in Narragansett. Arrived at Scarborough at around 6:30 AM, in the anticipation of being able to sneak a session in before they opened. Unfortunately, the winds had not fully picked up yet and was due north, making it difficult to get through the shore break, as it is slightly side offshore. I decided to secure my gear and quickly drive south towards Aunt Carrie's to see if it was any better. Unfortunately, it wasn't much better and then returned back to Scarborough. By this time, the parking was open and was reminded that the beach that there was no swimming and was closed to surfing.
I decided to derig to drive down to Aunt Carrie's and try there. One other windsurfer (Bill) and kiter (sorry I am not good with names) was there with me at this point. I rigged my 5.0 Point-7 with my Mistral Eruption. Both Bill and I attempted to get out but were both getting thrashed due to high tide. My sailed ended up breaking 3 of the upper battens.
After about a half hour, the wind was finally blowing in earnest and rigged the 4.5 and successfully got through the break, which by now improved somewhat due to the lower tide. Sailed for about an 45 minutes on the 4.5 and came in to rig the 4.0, by this time the other windsurfer and kitesurfer had left and continued solo. Got out again and probably sailed for another 45 minutes or so, before coming back in for a late lunch break at Aunt Carrie's. Then rigged the 3.5 and went back out for some more. Finished sailing at around 5 PM and was home around 7.
