Why are you wearing spankz over your wetsuit? Is your rig attached to a kite that's out of frame? Kites "hang." Windsurfers jump. Except for the fashion don't, the shots are nice! Laughing Laughing

I use to love that stuff. Getting to old now. Can you say flat water....

Naah. It's all in your head. We have quite a few geezers who rip in big winds and overhead swell, and that's just at one venue, let alone the rest of the river or the rest of the planet. Within reason, you can if you think you can.

Heck, I think I can. I know I can. Its just the price I pay that night and all the next week. Like a lot of old guys that have spent a life time seeking thrills on the slopes, water and anywhere fun can be had, its a low back issue. I'm paying the price now at 66 years old but I would not change a thing. Ok maybe I would change the dirt bike crash that broke my neck...

We have about half a dozen regulars that sail Arroyo Laguna on every windy day, that are in their 60's, me included at 66.
We all feel that if we quit the ocean, we will grow old, so we don't.

Our sailing this year has been unusually smooth, with an unusually thick kelp bed being the reason. I have to admit it's been pretty special.

With Lopez dry, I gotta start heading up to Arroyo. What do you think about this Tuesday?

Spankz = Board Shorts....Since when has fashon ever entered the equation when wearing a wetsuit...its all good! By the way...I would be remiss if I did not give credit to the Photographer, Markus Marschall. He is out at the river all the time capturing some great pics...If you read this...Thanks Markus!

Nothing personal, but wearing board shorts over a wetsuit is about the dumbest thing I have ever seen in my life. What's the point?!? Rolling Eyes

Maybe to protect your 300 buck wet suit when you sit on a rock for a break. But who really cares what people wear to have fun on the water. I started windsurfing a very long time ago. The first day out I got wacked hard on the head. The next time out I was wearing a helmet and have been ever since. People thought I looked silly. Now, More and more people wear them. maybe the board shorts idea is the next wave of the future.

I have no real issue with folks wearing boardshorts over their wetsuits, but one wonders why someone would want another wet thing in the car. Yet, I have to admit to wearing lycra shorts under my wetsuit for some protection. Also, wearing shorts makes it easy to remove the wetsuit in a more public venue, and it eliminates the need to fuss around with a towel in the process.

My 4/3 O'Neill just gut two little rips in the crotch. ......i looked down the other day and saw something poking out that shouldn't. .......until new wetsuit purchase or patch.......it's boardshorts over the wetsuit.
