I just received an email from a PR person in Mosier, in response to the previous post, saying that Rock Creek is most likely not open today, despite the fact that people were kiting there yesterday. The oil booms are still in place, and construction will begin on the sewage line replacement at Rock Creek today, hopefully to be finished by Friday. Please stay out of the area until official information arrives saying that the beach has reopened. Thanks for your help in spreading the word, and have an awesome day! |

It's true that Rock Creek is closed...again, due to more construction.
What is the official news source? |

None-the-less..., I did observe several windsurfers and kiters launching there on Monday so one can only assume that if Rock Creek is "closed," there is nobody enforcing that closure. _________________ CU Sailin' |

Several foilboarders and kiteboarders at Rock Creek right now. There is no gate, and all hazards are marked and protected. If you go there, stay clear of the oil boom, which is still in place. |

As of today (Sunday), I can confirm there are no impediments whatever to sailing from Rock Creek, other than the lack of wind - no notices posted, nor is there any sign of oil in the water, even within the booms, and a worker there seemed surprised when we asked if there were any restrictions. Maybe with the beginning of the work week tomorrow we'll see something different, but for now it looks good to go... |
