According to other archives obtained by CNN, Greene also promoted Pizzagate, a related conspiracy theory that claims Clinton and other top Democratic figures are running a child sex-trafficking ring beneath a pizza shop in Washington, D.C.
In December 2016, a man fired a gun in the Comet Ping Pong pizza shop, claiming he was there to “self-investigate” the Pizzagate conspiracy.
In a 2017 blog post, Greene said the deadly white supremacist rally held in Charlottesville that year was an "inside job" to "further the agenda of the elites."
Greene suggested that James Fields, the man who killed one woman and injured 19 other counter protesters during the rally, may have done so by accident. Fields was later convicted of first-degree murder and nine other charges. He also pleaded guilty to 29 federal hate crimes.
"Whether this is true or not, it is beyond tragic that James Alex Fields Jr rammed his car into the crowd killing 1 and injuring 19 others. If it was intentional and premeditated, then he deserves to be held accountable. Yet if his reaction was out of fear and hitting the crowd was actually an accident, then that changes the narrative of what happened in Charlottesville this past weekend," Greene wrote.
In a lengthy Facebook post last year, Greene wrote that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) was guilty of treason and suggested she could be executed, CNN noted.
Greene won the GOP primary this month in a solidly Republican district. She is favored to win in the November general election.

Since her victory, Republican lawmakers have sought to distance themselves from QAnon. One GOP House member joined a Democrat to introduce a resolution on Tuesday condemning the conspiracy theory.
Top Republicans including House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) and House Republican Conference Chair Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) have come out against QAnon.
Greene, who did not immediately respond to a request for comment for this story, has attempted to distance herself from the theory, asserting her previous blog posts don’t represent her current views.

Trump's Ex-Campaign Manager Hospitalized by Police After Wife Said He Was Armed and 'Ranting'

The incident began Sunday afternoon when Parscale's wife flagged down a nearby Realtor who was preparing to show a home in the area and the other woman then called 911, according to audio released by authorities.
According to the incident reports, Parscale's wife told police that he "was drunk and they were having an arguement [sic] when Brad Parscale took possession of one of his firearms, racked the slide, loading it right in his wife's presence."
She "became so afraid for her safety that she immediately fled the residence on foot with no cell phone or belongings," the incident reports state. "After leaving the residence on foot she claimed to hear a possible gun shot from within the residence, but later stated it could have been a car back firing from down the street."
A friend of Parscale's who is an officer arrived on the scene and, after Parscale "was convinced to exit the residence," he was placed into custody and taken to a hospital for evaluation and treatment, according to Fort Lauderdale police.

Body camera footage of his detainment shows him shirtless and holding a can in his hand as he approaches the officer, his friend, outside his home. Parscale says repeatedly that "I didn't do anything."
"I'm not trying to kill myself," he tells the officer, adding, "She's lying. I'm your friend."
"She started saying all this s---," he says in the body camera footage, seemingly referring to his wife.
SWAT officers then quickly move in, telling Parscale to get on the ground. When he does not respond, an officer tackles him at the waist to detain him, the footage shows.
"Brad was drinking a beer and was clearly intoxicated at this time," the officer who is his friend later wrote in his report.
According to the incident reports, responding police felt "it was evident that" Parscale's wife "could not safely be left with [him] due to his potential for violence to her and/or himself."
Authorities tell PEOPLE, however, that he was not charged with a crime and that his wife was "not cooperative" with filing charges.
"Brad Parscale has been depressed and suicidal recently," police said Parscale's wife told them, according to the reports. "This has led him to consume alcohol a lot more frequently and make suicidal statements."
The 911 audio shows his wife telling the dispatcher that he has been under a "lot of stress right now" and that he had been "ranting and raving about something, I don't know." |

Police cited her remarks in a petition filed at Broward County Circuit Court Wednesday, asking permission from a judge to confiscate Parscale’s stash of 11 shotguns, rifles and handguns.
The police probe is ongoing, with officers from Fort Lauderdale’s Investigations Bureau at the couple’s home Thursday, where they talked with security guards outside the house for about 20 minutes, according to DailyMail.com.
The bureau investigates a broad range from crimes, from domestic abuse to financial crimes, but would not reveal what they were looking into. |
