"Are we going to do anything about it, considering that we had a hand at creating this situation?"
As I recollect, the Obama Administration was highly criticized by the Republican right for not jumping in and doing more to help the rebels in their civil war against Assad's regime. I guess it's easy to conveniently twist the story to suit the situation. No doubt, we're totally responsible and accountable for the War in Iraq thanks to the Bush Administration, but is the civil war in Syria really our doing? |

I don't remember whether I made any commentary on the subject however, I have never been for action in Syria. We should have been happy to leave Assad in place no matter how brutal he was. He has maintained reasonable control over the heathens. |

One thing that's important to keep in mind is that for years Syria was a formal ally of the USSR, and later, Russia. That fact unquestionably complicated any military action that we may have considered or supported. |

Actually, like Trump, I've been against any action in the Middle east since day 1. |

Well then maybe Obama shouldn't have drawn another one of his red lines in the sand with Syria when it came to chemical weapons, also know as weapons of mass destruction.
And no the Syrian civil war was something that we had nothing to do with, but the rapid growth of ISIS was. It was ISIS entering the fray in Syria, that has resulted in the rapid growth of people fleeing. |

They are fleeing to, of all places, Judeo Christian cultures....only to eventually demand that we change for them. |

No Dean, it's Obama's trying to be the ender of wars that seems to keep backfiring on him. The harder he tries, the worse it gets, you can't end a war by simply trying to walk away, that never works.
And now we have this.

US warns Russia against more aid to Assad amid new violence
Sep 5, 5:48 PM (ET)
By SARAH EL DEEB
BEIRUT (AP) — Anti-government violence erupted Saturday in a southern Syrian province that had largely stayed on the sidelines of the country's civil war. Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports suggesting that Russia was planning to expand its military support for Syrian President Bashar Assad prompted a warning from the U.S. that such actions could lead to a confrontation with coalition forces.
The violence in Sweida province, a stronghold of the Druze minority sect, followed the killing of a prominent cleric in rare explosions Friday that claimed the lives of at least 25 others, activists and pro-government media said. Rioters holding the government responsible for the cleric's death destroyed the statue of late Syrian President Hafez Al-Assad and besieged security offices, the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights and other activist groups said.
In Washington, the State Department issued a statement after U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry called Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to express concern over unconfirmed reports "suggesting an imminent enhanced Russian military build-up" in Syria.

This from Saturday Night Live. That Barry is an absolute hoot!!

Barry also mocked that fool Romney's suggestion that Iran is our greatest national security threat. Just another clueless Republican candidate in the clown car! And who could not have been repulsed by the shocking revelation that he pulled a boy's hair when he was 15. Where was the FBI then! |

mrgybe, I guess that you can continue to feel that Mitch Romney would have been a better choice for the presidency in 2012. Unfortunately for you, losers carry the load of their unsuccessful choices. Not enough strength and concept to pull it off. |
