I was initially disgusted with the GOP and the president for caving on the budget, but closer examination changed my mind ... for now. DACA, abortion (Planned Parenthood) funding by taxpayers, the wall, and many other issues we caved on can be fixed some other time, but strengthening our military takes so DAMNED long, our defense credibility and thus all-out war deterrence was SO damaged during Obama's reign (I'll take a pres who grabs it over one who IS one any day), and the global threats to our very existence are growing way out of control in number and magnitude that we're running out of time to fix the biggest problem: the free world's waning freedom and security.

Step One was a big and quick bang for the buck: appointing a war hawk like Bolton had to get the bad guys' attention even if he IS merely an advisor. Without credibility there is no such thing as deterrence.

Maybe increasing our defense posture IS worth caving on so many abominable internal social issues. Maybe the new White House is looking beyond the upcoming election(s). What good's a wall or a war on MS-13 or deporting a few hundred thousand violent illegal aliens if we're militarily defeated by any or several of the 4 or 5 entities capable now or very soon of defeating us with a wide variety of weapons?

Each of us has compromised on some important issues to gain even more important victories. Maybe ... just maybe ... that's what happened Friday.

It also proved that the dems really aren't that interested in a rapid DACA solution. They'd rather have it continue to go on as long as they don't have the White House so that the issue stays alive.
They think that we don't notice that, as Schumer and Pelosi celebrate their, ahem, "victory".

There are so many ways the Trump administration can do the bidding of big oligarch’s and help them steal from the treasury. Like take a page from the James Watt playbook and maximize the size of a lease sale so you minimize the income to the treasury. Theft.

NW30, when DACA is ridiculously tied to spending billions on building a foolish wall, it's sadly a no-go. Your lame attempt to crap on Democrats is specious at best. If the DACA issue was addressed a single issue, it would easy pass with bi-partisan support, and I think that you know that.

Until the Democrats win the House or Senate, or maybe both, they have literally no control of the congressional agenda. Come November, I'm hoping that that all changes. Passing DACA legislation would then be a slam-dunk effort.

Actually, Donald Trump ended DACA. But, the federal courts have interceded, and so DACA lives on. I'm sure that Senator Schumer and House Minority Leader Pelosi are very aware of where we are right now.

Needless to say, it's a political negotiation, and Trump is seemingly coming up short right now. He had to whine a bit, but he signed the bill.

The way things are going, time doesn't seem to be on his side with DACA. Of course, he can still be the jerk we know so well. Only time will tell how the story unfolds.

You spell as poorly as you think and do research. You are exactly why Republicans hate higher education. The hell with the benefits to the culture and economy, uneducated fools vote red.

Speaking of higher education, you missed a great chance to get back into the stock market on Friday, where were you?
Sorry now it's too late again.
