This is what Trump wanted all along
Asad is a SOB, but he's always protected religious minorities who aren't fighting him
P.S. ABC News was just busted using two year old gun range footage while reporting on Turkey 'slaughtering' the kurds in the wake of a US withdrawal from the region. |
How sad that this is what passes for thought among those addicted to Trump's twitter feed.
Some form of conflict over the desire of Kurd's to have an independent country was inevitable. They are indeed sandwiched between other countries--Iraq, Syria and Turkey--that have no intent of allowing another independent country , or another hated minority like the Palestinians in their midst.
I would have no difficulty with any administration's gradual backing off of the Kurds--if done in a professional and statesmanlike manner. Trump did not consult his military or Department of State. He did not arrange for maintaining the captive ISIS fighters--only 2 of the "high value" prisoners were secured before the camp was overrun. He has hollowed out and ignored the professionals in the Department of State who could have provided advice on how to withdraw without triggering a slaughter. Of course, his real purpose for that was to arrange for continued corruption by Russian, Ukrainian, and American oligarchs, free of interference from officials concerned about corruption.
As a pundit said, Trump spent more time thinking about the criticisms of Steve Kerr and Gregg Popovich than he did thinking about the American interest in the Kurdish region. |

Utter nonsense. Trump greenlighted - for his buddy Vlad. He is utterly corrupt and you are utterly blind. |
It is revealing to what lengths normal people will go to defend atrocious decisions by the current president. |
Its called the peanut syndrome. Coined from a Mathew Modine line from Stanley Kubrick's "Full Metal Jacket"... Regardless of the policy, the peanut eaters stand in line, for a chance to defend the indefensible...
tariffs-love m
YUGE deficits- bring m on
removing a critical residual force in Syria-let do it
cuddling up with bad actors- love it
taking GOVT overreach to the next level- sounds good to me...
PROTECTIONISM-- we've always loved it |
We have had tariffs in place for decades nitwit...no one necessarily likes them but they serve a purpose...
No one is defending deficits, but your hypocrisy is entertaining.
Our forces were in harms way, sandwiched between two moving forces, maybe if you had a son in that area you would feel different. The fact is Turkey has been telling us for weeks they were moving south no matter our feelings....100 us forces vs 15K for turkey...thats a lot of US body bags coming home, for What??? We had a choice, stand our ground and start a war with Turkey or step back and let these ancient enemies bang it out...
There is no pretty way out, never will be.. |
Not blanket tariffs on an entire nation! Is Chuck Shumer president?
And the silence from the neutered right speaks volumes about the lack of fiscal discipline. Fear of being bitch slapped by Trump is more important than doing whats right.
Obama got lit up by pulling the troops from Iraq...so save the hypocrisy excuse.... |

mat-ty, this will be another futile argument but since you are doing hypotheticals, can you imagine for a moment that this was Obama who on a Sunday evening decided to pull out, against the will of the soldiers on the ground, his military advisers, and your Republican idols. Would you really argue that he got our boys out of harms way and there was nothing else he could have done? Or would it have been your usual he is weak and bows to foreign leaders? |

Completely different situation....first war was declared by congress in Iraq, second we removed their government and had an obligation to help create stability. We did'nt create the mess in Syria, or Turkey...
And just for the record we are not completely pulling out,,just getting our pinned troops out of harms way.......BIG DIFFERENCE.. |

Trump has plenty of support on the ground and elsewhere.....you just choose to focus on the ones that suit your anti-trump agenda. |
