I don't agree, both of the current teams are excellent defensively. Offense
usually takes care of itself if you play good defense. I think either
of these 2 teams would match up well with the dominant 80s teams.

Of course we'll never know, since that type of speculation is pure whimsy.

True we will never know. But its the only major sport that I think it could be possible. Is there any doubt the that Magic , Bird, McHale, Kareem could still be studs in todays NBA??

You've finally written something I can agree with. Add in Robert Parish, Kevin McHale and James Worthy for good measure. Nobody has ever seen the court better than Magic.

That said, the Warriors defense, game-long, is the best since the Bill Russell Celtics. The showtime Lakers could do it for 2 minutes (so could others), but game-long defense, that is what makes the Warriors great.

It is only one game, and LeBron remains the best player active, although both Durant and Curry are close.

Absolutely! Those guys (and a few others) would dominate today just like they did then.

p.s. Dr J. says he could still score (and I believe it) but he's just too slow and old to play defense.

Just like Iquodala couldn't run or jump last year.
And Anderson Varajao as the starting center, Bogut and Ezeli both hurt in the legs.

Dude, you're not watching are you? The Dubs set records for assists, nobody passes the rock like the Warriors.....Certainly Magic, McHale, Bird , and Kareem would dominate in ANY era....If you can ball, you can ball. Can you imagine McHale trying to guard KD?? KD would put up 50, every night...
...Like your political arguments, the hoops one is not based on fact... Very Happy Very Happy

Loved watching McHale. One of the best face-up forwards on offense. Not as good as Tim Duncan or Karl Malone, the top two on ESPN's list.

In my opinion, Wilt Chamberlain was the best player ever, followed by Oscar Robertson. Wilt averaged 30.1 points and 22,9 rebounds per game for his career, 50 and 25+ in his prime. The big O, as a point guard, averaged 25.7 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 9.5 assists.

After that you can put Bill Russell, Kareem, Michael Jordan, and Magic in about any order. The greatest of the great.

That's right. But in today's game , he would be forced to guard a faster wing player, so he'd be off the floor. Putting political IQ in the same sentence with matty is an oxy-moron. The Dubs average 30 assists a game, that's about as unselfish as you can get...Only Showtime passed it more....
