I initially agreed with NW's and Mrgybe's reaction, but a) NW brought her up and b) it does matter* whether an individual used as an example is playing the system or not. That doesn't excuse the nature of the apparent attacks (I gave one a one-second glance ... more than it was worth), but it is an academically valid point, IMO.

* On second thought, no ... it doesn't matter. Even if an example proves invalid, that doesn't negate the point being made, because there are countless examples that WOULD support a point. So, yes, they're dix.

But does that surprise anyone?

Good morning to you too Master Gybe. NW brought the subject of his wife's socialism (and his too as I assume he shared in the entitlements) into the conversation. I am free to comment as I please. Free speech Baby.

It does not surprise me that you claim to not read my posts, but you really do. What do you call someone who does not tell the truth? Isobars.

The Virginia clown wants to cling tightly to his delusion that he is chivalrous--while he calls yousurf and me dicks. Reading for content is not his strong suit, so he didn't manage to comprehend that I said nothing to disparage NW's wife, but asked if he thinks his wife should have extended unemployment benefits in such a terrible economy. He, of course, didn't answer because there was nothing handy to repost from slamObama.com.

I did favor extending unemployment benefits, both as a matter of humanitarian consideration--even if NW might benefit--and as a sound investment. Of course Eric Cantor--Virginia Republican at the time--and the conservatives opposed extending those benefits.

Here, from the hill, are his comments:

Quote:
"It doesn't create any jobs, and right now we are in the business of trying to see how we can get people back to work, for an America that works for more people," he said.

Cantor noted that the idea of retroactively extending benefits that expired in late December would be unworkable, and said many state officials have made this clear to Congress. That prompted Hoyer to ask whether Republicans could consider a prospective bill, but Cantor dismissed that idea as well.

"It is my opinion that what the gentleman asks for is a continuance of the status quo," he said.

"We want to get people back to work. We're in the business of job creation. We want to provide a better environment for businesses to hire people."

Cantor's remarks are consistent with comments Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and other Republicans have made over the past several months: that the GOP wants to streamline job-training programs and take other steps to help people find work. Today, Cantor held to that line even after Hoyer argued that for many, the issue is that there are not enough jobs to go around.

"Those who are out of work beyond that who are deemed chronically unemployed want most an opportunity to get back to work," he said. "That's where I believe we ought to focus our efforts and really help people get back into a job."

Of course, allowing the unemployed to buy groceries creates more jobs than tax cuts for the super rich. And I doubt that NW will address the hypocrisy of supporting unemployment benefits--as long as they cover his wife.

Oh, you cut me so deep Master Gybie. Calling someone a dick is mature? Family members are out of bounds? Why, because you say so? Your hypocrisy is matched only by your ego. It is a wonder your white stallion can bear the weight of it.

No way I'm defending or condoning whatever attacks these so-called "people" seem to have levied on NW or his wife, but politicians keep making the same lame claim ... right after they use their family members for political purposes. They can't play it both ways. The Clintons kept Chelsea out of the limelight in the '90s, but Obama shoves his wife and kids in our face more often than he tees off or stonewalls a legitimate question. It's always tenuous using an example with personal ties, but the most defensible post I've seen lately in this thread was "FY".

Actually MG family members aren't out of bounds if brought into the discussion as I did.

But as to you Mr. Superhero, what brought my two letter response, was your immature assumptions about my wife, you have no idea. Being much older that you, she has trained professional skills, and my financial support, which allows her to choose between being unemployed (w/o U.I. which she no longer qualifies for) or flipping burgers, she's one of the lucky ones. Also I don't despise U.I. per se, but I did despise the extensions that this administration was involved in extending, and extending, and extending, it was turning us into another Greece or Spain.

So anyway I hope that you are winning with your struggles with getting thru your adolescence, it won't last forever.
