I will be in new London CT on Wednesday afternoon.
Since I will not be on the Island; [where it looks like I will be missing logo high swell, and 25 knts+] and have to take the ferry to New London due to family commitments...

Where can I sail? I see Misquamicut Beach. Is that sailable? I need someone to point me in the right direction.

The forecast calls for warm, strong, wet weather.
I would love to get in a few hours before dark. There looks like a few nice points on the map, but I would rather sail with locals who know the best spots.

Thank you in advance, for sharing your local knowledge.

Frank

I sailed Ocean Beach state park one day last year. It's in new London at the mouth of the Thames river. Beyond that you just head east on 95 & route 1. East Beach is the first spot you could check, After that keep driving to Pt Judith, a few launches on either side of the light house.

JP,

Thanks.
I would have missed Ocean Beach Park as a possibility.

Pt Judith looks like a nice point break. A little out of my way. But worth the detour if it actually breaks.

Is East Beach, East Matunuck State Beach? OR is it East Beach Road, just west of Ninigret Pond?

Thanks for the advice.

East beach is the road before ninigret.. flat water inside on ninigret pond or shitty shore dump on the outside... what you want is Matunuck beach rd. follow down past ocean mist to deep hole.. that's the spot... Maybe tomorrow late or Thursday early..

I guess the wind never happened.
I got down to the trailer park beach ready to Windsurf, Windsup, or supsurf. No wind at all, had a great paddle. Waist to shoulder high surf. Lot's of folks out for a pre-xmas surf. Maybe 15 surfers and 6 Sups at any one time.

Great day, maybe the season ender for me.

Thanks again for the help. It was warm, but I was not in the right place at the right time.
