Windsurfers are very friendly at all the bay sailing spots.
But board surfing has a different attitude here. It's the same in Hawaii. There are a lot of young locals who get very angry when new surfers try to surf at the best wave spots.
They don't seem to like windsurfers on "their wave" either.
If you are new to board surfing, just go to a big beach, away from the group and you'll be fine.
Skiing is great here,,, when there is snow. The weekends get very crowded though and lift tickets aren't cheep. |

Thanks everybody for all the tips and recommendations.
Thanks @KevinDo for the link about the video... I had already watched all the nice videos from Alex Dunkel - AD surf photography before moving here. They had fed up a bit my imagination;)
I am going to start exploring Candlestick and Crissy Field by bike during the next weekends.
During the winter I hope to settle down with a long term house rent, a car and the equipment to be ready for the new season.
How can I know when there will be the swap meetings in Crissy field? Usually it get posted on this forum? |

Not True....
You can get a season pass at Squaw for $559 . Ski 20 days for $27/day, a deal of a lifetime to rip one of the best hills in North America. |
