Or are you just nuts ... making it up ... as many doctors, drug companies, and insurers claim?
We spend a lot of time outdoors, often exposed to brush and the ground near water: classic tick turf. (Doug's West in the Gorge was crawling with them.) Chronic Lyme disease is often misdiagnosed as another condition such as Multiple Sclerosis, Fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, ALS, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson's, or anxiety, and treatments that work for these other illnesses are not appropriate for treating Lyme disease. Yet it apparently:
• Is by far the most prevalent vector-borne disease in the U.S.
• Can persist for years to life even with treatment.
• May exhibit any of scores of ever-changing symptoms.
• Is detectable only AFTER specific treatment for it in half of its cases.
• Can infect, affect, or even kill unborn babies.
• Is in at least 48 states, epidemic in the NE.
The award-winning documentary “Under Our Skin” exposes the hidden story of Lyme disease, one of the most serious and controversial epidemics of our time. Lyme disease is caused by the spirochete bacteria Borrelia burgdorferi, which is transmitted to humans and animals by ticks, mosquitoes, spiders, and mites. The Borrelia bacteria’s ability to take on different forms allows it to escape your immune system, evade antibiotics, and hide from detection by blood tests. It has triggered an ongoing debate among the medical establishment; one large, powerful camp denies the fact that this organism can cause severe chronic illness. [Can you say AGW, cholesterol, low-fat diets, stress ulcers ...?] Lyme's biofilm nature discovery seems to have validated it and the CDC has bumped its frequency tenfold, but medical guidelines still pooh-pooh it. The film purports to explain why.
The producers of this film are allowing a full and FREE viewing through August 1. After that it costs $25. Is the film overblown, alarmist, falling skies, wolf cries? Not for those with Lyme disease. If you have symptoms doctors can't diagnose, or if you're ever outdoors, you may want to watch this film while it's free.

I posted this here rather than in the "off-topic" forum because many people avoid the latter. |

Good one iso- also read Cure Unknown by Pamela Weintraub- she addresses the disease; also the egos and political maneuvering behind current CDC protocols. |
