Is it wise to replace the screw on your boom head after a period of years and use in salt water? |

Unscrew them, see that even after 10 years in salt water, there is very little corrosion in the screws. However, the holes probably have elongated, the boom material there is degraded, and sooner or later, if it's aluminum, it will break. |

Not a bad idea to check. I have had the screws break in half on Chinook aluminum booms. They were stainless steel bolts. I'm assuming it was a bad batch. I have seen them loosen also. |
