Hi Gang,
I don't know much about Gorge forecasting but I do know how to find and illustrate what the real Gorge forecasters are talking about in their forecast for tomorrow, Thursday.
Sure looks like big wind to me.
The first video shows the inbound upper low at ≈ 18,000 ft. taking a bead on the Gorge. This puppy does 2 things. !. It creates strong WSW to SW winds over the Gorge. 2. Induces a deeper low pressure in the Columbia Basin and northern Great Basin increasing the overall pressure gradient.
The second video shows the surface isobars of the Great Basin and the isobars over the basin. Watching the time bar notice how the pressure gradient really stacks up over the Gorge tomorrow.
Tune in for Benjamin's forecast tonight for the details.
