Thank you very much Dan and Techno.

It's rare nowadays to hear from people who still care about longboard sailing. The older and more jaded I get with high wind stuff, the more I return to them, and where it all started.

The sea, the swell, the scents and sounds of surf crashing against some rocky headland as I 'magic carpet, around it, the screeching gulls, the seals popping up as though to say 'what the hell are you doing here?'

Poor mans yacht maybe, but I love it! Once again thanks.

The issue I have with comparing a retro to a narrow sleeve twin cam sail is that they go so flat when you're not powered up real well. So for those of us who go sailing in marginal conditions, where we're not always planing, I'll take the twin cam sail, because it holds it's shape in lulls.

I think twin can narrow sleeve sails are great for newbs, since they tend to go out in more marginal conditions than more experienced sailors. Longboard folks are also commonly out in subplaning conditions, too. I think there also great for the biggest sail in a person's quiver, since that is the sail one would be using in marginal conditions.
