Does anyone still sell those fin covers with the flared retention "wings/flanges/collars/flaps" ... the covers you slip over the fin before putting the fin through the board bag's fin slot so the cover doesn't fall or blow off? Google just looks at me funny and shows fins when I ask it.

If not, I guess I sew or glue retention flaps on today's EVA covers.

You might want to contact Tectonics

http://www.tectonicsmaui.com

I seem to remember their fins coming w/ nice flared fin covers.

Or you could find some oversize standard covers and cut slits at the top.

You're right Kevin, Tectonics did offer fin covers that had the bendable tabs. They were made with reflective silver padded material (much like board bags) with a durable black fabric bead folded over and sewn along the edge. I still have a number of them. However, Tectonics switched some years ago to a sandwiched unpadded vinyl material where the two sides are simply sewn together. They still have a tab type extension, but it's just not the same quality of product. The newer ones just aren't near as durable or dependable, and they lack the creases that allow the tabs to lay flat on the bottom of the board.

That said, Tectonic fins are still top notch when it comes to their slalom fins.
