My old B mast base broke recently and I am struggling finding a new one. Does anyone have one that they would let go cheap? I don't want to spend much on old equipment. Otherwise any idea where to get a new one? Thanks

Does your mast base plug into a car on a pedal operated sliding track or does it fit into a plate that is screwed to a track in the board that doesn't adjust while sailing?

(maybe post a photo of the mast track on the board also)

If you have the latter, you are probably better off just replacing the whole foot and extension with a newer Chinook part.

Thanks guys. I didn't know that the universal joint was a replaceable part. I should be able to get one of them to work.

There is a good chance that the hardware is corroded and removing it may be difficult. If so you can cut through the bolts with a hacksaw. Cut between the old universal and the webbing so you don't damage the plug or the mast base. Don't worry about damaging the webbing. You can also buy a replacement webbing from Chinook. They also sell the bolts which for a new universal will be 8mm stainless. You can figure out the length once you have the base disassembled.
