Sand bags have been installed at Candlestick launch. Well two sand bags have been installed. Put them there to see how well they last and if they get slippery. Man they are nice to walk on for two steps though. If everyone just puts a few down at a time I think it will be fine. The parks dept doesn't have jurisdiction over the shore there and I don't think there is anyone with a budget who goes around removing sand bags...

Remember, grasshopper, it is easier to ask forgiveness than to ask permission.

couple of you regular Stick guys will need to carry a scrub brush (in your vehicle) to scrub plastic as they do at the sign, otherwise very slippery. Difference being, they leave the brush out all season in the Delta, wouldn't last long if left out at the Stick

Many years ago at Marina Bay in Richmond - long past any statute of limitations (??) - we used burlap bags filled with mixture of sand/cement. Or maybe they were just paper cement bags, can't remember.

Probably more environmentally friendly and certainly longer lasting. Plus no upkeep required.

Just a thought......

3/4" rough cut gravel. After the bags bust you still got gravel. Sand blows away. Great idea.
