I just got a new fanatic SUP and it was missing the powerbox plug for the center fin. I imagine getting a replacement will be like trying to milk a rock, so I was wondering if anyone has a .stl CAD file of a powerbox fin that I could chop the top off of and send to the 3d printer... or just the top part if youdont want me to see your secret fin Laughing

In my experience the plastic used for 3d printing is ok for prototyping but it tends to be too fragile for real use. Also, it's expensive so it should be easier trying to contact fanatic or wherever you bought it from. What exactly do you mean by the power box plug. Do you mean the box itself, the screw holding the fin in or the bolt section in the fin itself?

I understand the OP means the base of the fin, the more or less rectangular section in which the screw sets. The plug is a 0 cm Powerbox fin that is used to fill the hole when you remove a center fin.

The easiest solution is to find a broken fin and completely butt it. I'm sure most shops will have something available for you.

Yes, just the top part to plug the hole. I have a new 3d printer sitting on my desk and its demanding to be used...

Using Google search power box fin. Under images is a drawing of the power box base that includes all of the dimensions. You should be able to create a 3D model from that drawing.

Swap meets all but give away beat-up fins, including Powerbox. Snag one, decapitate it, and you've got both the plug and the brass insert right there. And it will FIT!

I could definitely feel that you had one somewhere...

Since it is a plug, it doesn't need strength, only enough to survive being screwed in place. You can even design it with areas that will be foam filled to reduce the weight and displace water that would get trapped.

Or if you NEED to build something, you could also pour PU foam in the hole (lined with Saran Wrap). This will get you a light and fitting plug.

What happens if you don't put the filler piece in? If it would sink you could tape over the hole and be good.
