Everytime I windsurf using my Retro or Hucker I feel a choir of angels sing. Anyone else share my love for these sails. Made by angels.

I've tried a Retro (not sure which year) 7.0 and thought it had grunt but top end at 130 seemed ok. Haven't tried a hucker yet.

I was introduced to Sailworks in 1994 by Tom Cherry when he worked at Second Wind in Maui. While he transitioned to other brands when he moved to HiTech, I stayed with Sailworks and haven't owned anything else since. The race sails (NX most recently) have been great and the Retro was my medium air go-to sail. My favorite of all have been the Revolution (Revo) sails. They are a good wave sail but my style has always been more slalom and bump n jump. I just love the versatility as I can tune them to match my style of sailing plus they have great range. I replaced my 6.0 Retro with the 5.8 Revo and was surprised when I did not lose any low end planing ability in medium winds. Bruce makes great sails because he also sails them plus he has a good team behind him.

It is natural to like the gear that is in use at the time one is having fun. I have never tried Sailworks but I bet I would just as happy with them as the sails I have. With the maturity and contraction in the sport, I doubt there is any real junk on the market. I use Naish Force and Loft02, BTW, An yes I love these sails too.

Bruce Peterson sails every day in the summer, "at least 8 jibes", testing & perfecting his sails, not just relying on input from others (although he does have Dale Cook to advise him!). Sailworks are refined over the years, not just changed for marketing purposes.

Those of you who haven't tried Huckers really should! They're quite amazing, low-end torque like a race sail and handling like a wave sail. My 130-pound wife won't use anything else. I have found them to have more range than any sail I've ever used in my 24 years of sailing, and their low-end torque allows me to use a smaller sail (at 215#) than I normally would, quite often amazing my friends.

Actually, every time I sail my Hot Sails Maui Firelight there are scores of winds fairies (Fataventa in Italian, see image below) flying around joyfully and excitedly. Shocked Strangely enough they seem to judge my HSM GPS and GP2 too serious and fast, not playful enough apparently.

Yep, I love Retros, possibly the rangiest sail I've ever sailed, but....
for Gorge sailing, I prefer my Northwave Surflites, almost as rangy,
and I don't stuff the bottom of the sail in tight transitions on a swell.
plus they are smooth gust busters.

Doesn't DerekD also have some Sailworks?.
My '99 5.4 Revo is OK.
My '2000 5.5 Retro pretty good, but so is my '2000 GaastraMatrix 5.5.

Your 15-year-old Revo is OK? That's quite an accolade!! As I said earlier, Sailworks are constantly evolving and improving, sounds like zirtaeb needs to try a modern Revo, he'll lose his mind!!
