I know what would have happened if I'd bought it, so consider yourselves
lucky. ;*)

Launched at Swell yesterday. Seems pretty much status quo. Locals have "borrowed" the rigging carpets, redecorated the logs, and groomed the parking and rigging areas. But new regulations have been posted for site users:
No fast sailing.
No jumping.
Two turn limit per swell ride.
Except on weekends and holidays when riders must cross at least 2/3 of the river before jibing. "No jibe" zones will be clearly marked.
Starboard has right of way if you are Canadian, Japanese, just visiting, or rigged too big.
No dogs allowed except for Pugs, French Bulldogs. and Chihuahuas.
All cats must be leashed at all times.
No smoking unless a licensed resident of WA or CO. |

Awesome news!.. Ours vacation days at Swell have been Great, The friendliest place on the river. The Beach manager Brenda is soo awesome to see each year, Treats us like family, unreal really how she remembers us by name and where were from and really makes us feel welcome.I broke a mast several years ago and instantly had several sailors there to assist and tow me in, They even offered a mast to get me back out for the day, something you dont see everywhere. I feel very safe at Swell City. CGWA did good on this one, Nice work Guys! |

Awesome post knifeonwater. Frist of all most swell sailors are too old to sail fast or jump. Also two turns per swell is great. Unless you live in pucker huddle and smoke. Then your ok. Only small dogs not large ones? Did I miss anything? And what length leash for my cat? |

Small dog rule will become apparent this summer with the invasion of the free range chalupan sail scratchers. Cat leashes are not to exceed the length of a standard uphaul, [the only permitted use of uphauls at Swell]. Pucker Huddle sounds illegal in at least 33 states last time I counted. Smoke 'em if you got 'em. |

The same for the cat-on-a-uphaul. |

The elusive Chupacabra is traditionally found in more southern climates. Here is a Chupacabra sighting from Baja a few years back. If you see this beast on the river beware....
