How many of you consider windsurfing a workout? I personally workout to windsurf. I mean what would you consider an off season workout, cycling?

Not if you mean aerobic cycling. After much study and experimentation, I've settled on strength building and intervals. Done right, IMO, they take only a few hours a year of the former and a couple hours a month of the latter. I also recently converted my body to burn fat instead of carbs, and am very eager to see if that works as well as the research and many ultramarathonners and triathletes claim it does.

Mowing the lawn can be hard or not. Some people just stand around.

I save enough strength to get my gear back up on the beach if I'm done before the wind is.

I work out so I can windsurf. Mainly running, crunches, and pull ups.

Well, for people who don't know how to rig or sail well windsurfing can be a great workout as westender slyly pointed out Laughing

Many different ways to train during the off season. Here is the Pritchard Windsurfing Body Tune-Up

Da Bull workout program... Winter- ski your brains out. Year-round- no wind- SUP. Spring, Summer, Fall- wind- sail your brains out. Proper recovery technique includes after workout rehydration- Don Julio, Patron, and Shock Top are suggested. The only problem is finding the time to follow this regimen...BULL OUT

Since I converted my body to burn hydrocarbons, I find that I need no exercise whatsoever.

What he said. Surfing and SUPing (both cruising and SUP-surfing) really worked well this year for off-season conditioning, both for aerobic conditioning and core/leg/arm strength conditioning. Ironically, now that windsurfing season has kicked in and I don't have enough free time to also surf and SUP, I feel that my overall overall conditioning has actually decreased vs. the off-season.
