Are Bic boards that feature "Ace-Tec" thermoformed construction (ASA plastic skin) as on the 293 d, any more difficult to repair than more typical epoxy constructions?
By repair I mean a crack in the hull that goes all the way through the skin. Thanks. |

It should be remembered that a fiberglass and epoxy construction underlies the ASA skin. All you need to do is sand away the ACA skin completely, thereby revealing the bondable epoxy material. However, to get a good repair with cracked areas, it necessitates removal of all compromised material down to the source of the crack. You might want to refer to the Boardlady's website to learn more.
