Hi Gang,
In the top Today video taken at 8AM you can see the North Pacific High and the NW wind beginning to hit the coast.
In the bottom Yesterday video you can see a massive North Pacific High that, as forecast last Thursday, was rapidly moving towards the California coast Monday afternoon.
The strong AM winds you are currently seeing at Bay Area iwindsurf.com sensors at 8AM are mostly surface air stirred by the 20-40 knot NW gusts just aloft. These winds will fade some in the next 2 hours.
Then around noon the North Pacific High's surface NW winds should hit the coast. And with powerful gusts from the 925mb level sometimes reaching the surface you should use caution in launching.
