Was walking the dog at Palo Alto on 3/16/20and noticed a sign stating the launch deck is broken and will not be repaired before end of summer.

Can someone confirm that I am mistaken? Rolling Eyes

Thanks.

I went by there on Sat and noticed the small ramp was broken,
that connects the lower floating docks. There were two welded
hinge brackets broken. Anybody do welding? It doesn't
look like a big job for a pro, maybe a couple hours.
PA is a rich city. Not sure why this would take so long to fix.

I contacted the supervising ranger at the park and he said the
ramp is going to be repaired and they are getting bids for the project now.
It could be a few weeks or several months. I asked if they could just remove the ramp so we could use the lower dock. He said the ramp need to be there for ADA reasons. The larger floating dock (where we rest our boards) is still useable and we can launch from there, although it is higher off the water. Hopefully they get it fixed soon.

Carl.
Thank you for the update.
Hope PA can assess & fix.

What about getting a bid to take a raised walk way,
like the one they have in the rest of the park,
so we can walk out & jump off the point,
to WS on all tides.

Major upgrade for minor price.
PA is a very, very wealthy town. Wink

I spoke with the Park Ranger. The west end of the floating dock will continue to be available. They are looking for a metal fabricator to make a new ramp for the east end of the floating portion of the dock. The ranger said it will take anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months to fix the dock.

Hopefully you can see the barrier on the floating dock in the second photo.
