Prolimit harnesses?

Boardsports has a large selection of pro limit harnesses to try. Be warned, once you use one, its hard to go back to the stiffer harnesses like DaKine, which I used for years before going to pro limit.

Due to blowing through a bunch of spreader bars on my T Type pro limit, I tried to go back to DaKine, but couldn't stand the fit. I typically replace my harness every two seasons. So that's about 250 to 300 days of use, or about 600 hours. I don't rinse my stuff and sail 99% salt water. I weigh in at 160 lbs -- not exactly a heavy weight. The bars were failing at the weld point where the hook ties into the bar. The bars were cracking and folding out, but still holding together allowing me to get back in. Still, as mentioned, a PITA. Boardsports was real good about replacing my bars under warranty. I think I bought one well after a years' use, when it was outside warranty.

The last harness I bought was a "Chili." It has two attachment points, unlike the T Type, which only has one. I have nearly two years on the Chili and the bar has not failed, nor has the stitching to the attachment points on the harness.

The Chill is now discontinued, but Prolimit has a new model called the Fusion, with the same two attachment points. Go try some on. If the Fusion fits, get it. It will last longer.

Going back ..I think I had 2 of them. They were mighty fine.

I am pretty sure that NAISH use the same quik/clip release. Since the bar end is necessary you cant change to a roller instead of the clip.
