One thing that is directly related to the swinging of the rig is having our rear hand back... way back. This forces the rig to be on our opposite side as a counter balance for maximum control.

As I described in my jibe tutorial, I've never understood this need to reach way back for oversheeting leverage. I suspect that usually -- even when way overpowered -- means we've waited too late (i.e., we've borne too far off the wind) to oversheet easily. I keep reminding myself that I probably rank maybe 83,523rd among the world's jibers on my good days, but I consistently find that if I oversheet early enough -- even if that necessitates swerving upwind to flip the sail when OP'd beyond control -- it's effortless.

Agreed we don't need that much leverage unless overpowered but what it does is that it places the body more centered across the sail. There's a better inherent balance which can lead to easier moves such as jibe variants. Also it's used for speed loops.

With a front hand back it also keeps the mast father away from us when bleeding off the power. Through an onshore bottom turn, it'll increase sail control as we go clew first.

I also think that leverage (good fulcrum) is not what we are looking for when putting the hand back. It mostly prevents sheeting out and also bring the sail forward to steer downwind. As Manuel said, you are also ready to sail clew first if required.
