Stuck with an inability to reason about the rampant hypocrisy of the social conservatives, who are not actually interested in liberty, but interested in controlling other people's sexual behavior with the government, various people throw multiple red herrings into the soup. There is no connection between the employment of a gay athlete and NAMBLA, abortion, or the price of rice in China.

But I am most amused by Techno, who lapses from his occasional rationality to again defend any Republican politician who has done grossly unethical things. You guys are such a carnival show!

And of course Mikey, who thinks he has disguised his homophobia with wit. Mikey--you would give anyone alive a soft-on.

You folks must be saluting the suicidal homophobia of the Arizona legislature.

SB is clearly homophobic by what he said. Also clearly wants the government to control my sisters tough decision on her eggs. Please stay out of her vagina. Its not your business .

It's interesting to note that our two more prominent religious personalities here are the one's throwing the biggest bombs. It's ironic that they are the ones advocating a position that the government restrict freedom, and they do it with such moral righteousness. God is on their side.

I have not nor am I currently defending a Republican politician. I am defending due process, which Mac clearly chooses to ignore while he claims the Governor "has done grossly unethical things". Maybe this is the new left - guilty until proven innocent.

Please provide support/proof of you claim and I will let it go, otherwise you may continue to provide your own carnival show.

When it comes to gays and abortion, I have never seen the issues as either liberal or conservative. Clearly because of the "religious right" element of the conservative party, many have decided that gay rights and abortion are only supported by the left.

While the overall numbers likely support how these issues lean, there are plenty of folks in both parties that see things just the opposite of how the these issues have been painted.

Personally, I would think that other than the hard core "religious right", Republicans would stand behind gay rights and abortion because of their support of individual rights and freedoms, and less government control.

I think free thinking intelligent people let their knowledge and conscience decide what is right and what is wrong, not church doctrine or politics.

For what's its worth..............

You might be a Republican that feels differently about gay rights and abortion, but what do you consistently get voting for a Republican or conservative candidate? It's all in the numbers.

Can't answer questions with rational response warrants irrational assumptive accusations. I'm disappointed, usually you guys manage to attach hatred in there somehow too.

Techno--the governor of North Carolina, who owns large stock in Duke energy, was consulted by his appointee to the head environmental regulator in the State, on a legal settlement for the spill that was trivial. The newspapers got hold of the story and blew it up. It wasn't a crime because it was stopped before it went forward. If you have any doubt that it was unethical, I feel sorry for you.

You said pretty much the same thing about the 300 unreported pipeline spills. For those you support, there is nothing wrong until there is a conviction of a crime. For those you don't support politically, any rumor will do. My point.
