not so sure i can agree with the idea of the WeatherFlow folks deliberately dispensing a 'hosing' on to their paying public
originally the sensor was installed courtesy/under-the-wing of the marina
the marina moved but left the lights on
the marina moved back, but [i'm told] edison has dropped them a different
point to service; it was my impression the marina folks no longer acknowledge the WeatherFlow folks
thus, it is standalone for a permit, or an alternate site [such as the radio tower, or possibly the llama farm]
have you got any better ideas for an alternative site?? |

I second the motion by dogalone that Weatherflow be cut a little slack. Some of the earliest sensors, including Isabella and Cabrillo, were installed in a much more care-free time. When the original mounting pole snapped at Cabrillo two years ago the bureaucracy involved in installing a new pole and sensor was daunting. The beach is co-run by the city and county of LA and a dozen different agencies have a say in what happens there. For a while it looked hopeless but the Weatherflow folks (including Call of the Wind founder Jim Martin) managed to make it happen.
Ideas and offers of help are more useful than angry finger-pointing.
