That's not necessarily true, listen to this Beatles tune.

I have to agree though, Shimatabura plays music like no other. I first saw him on a PBS show, LA Art. The guy is a literal genius on the ukulele.

Wow, quite the spectrum. Some cool stuff in there. If anyone likes blues, one of my favorites who just passed is Magic Slim and the Teardrops. Very raw, searing in your face stuff. I am into more of a rock, American roots, blues, Louisiana soul, Texas twang, swamp boogie, country, folk, jazz, reggae, ska sound with guitars if that makes sense. More ideas!

Slide. Wow. Two excellent examples. The best is an elusive term, it depends more on taste than technical skill. Let me suggest a few that are perhaps underappreciated.

Start with Jerry Douglas, here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ClKSED3yM3w&feature=kp, and what I consider his tastiest album, with two other monsters, Skip Hop and Wobble:

You can always go with Michael Bloomfield and Elvin Bishop. Start with East West and Paul Butterfield: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YaV-S5ivX3E

One of the best and most underappreciated to my taste is Mike Dowling, a true master. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_VLgaXqsFU, Not slide, but open tune masterpiece: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VtVAPPvnd7U

A few other names that you might have not heard. Sonny Landreth, Kelly Jo Phelps, David Lindley, Martin Simpson, Bob Brozman, JB Hutto, and of course Ry Cooder.
