I was told that by a very reputable person, otherwise I wouldn't have passed it on. But who knows what is true. And the more I learn about the windsurfing biz, the less I trust anything that is said on these forums that is gear related. It seems like most posters have some kind of skin in the game. |

Thanks everyone for your knowledge. I may just spend a few more bucks and get a little better quality board. |

Dont follow you..like at all.. Goya were made boards in China but now NOT ??
perhaps long ago but not recent, where they are or aren't made is not a national secret.
Boards that NOT made in the THAILAND Cobra factory are easier to ID than those that are.
Cobra boards 99.9% sure
Quatro Goya Naish Tabou Starboard JP Fanatic RRD
Not: Simmer, Witchcraft, Mistral, Kinetic (if they still make Windsurf)
AHD Flikka
not sure F2 ..think Cobra _________________ K4 fins

Would be interesting to know if Tunisa and Slovakia were still producing windsurfing boards.
James Chen told me in '04 he was stopping making boards, to make fishing boats and a new model of kayak. Don't know what became of this.
Does anyone know where RRD's are made?
Does China make any windsurf boards, or are people mistakeing China for Thailand? |

I have the first year flywave 75, 85 and a 2014 flywave. I can confirm the board bottom does not flex with finger pressure on any of these boards, checked last night. |

I have ridden the Quantum 85l and I can say its a great handling board.
Fastest Quad I have ridden and turned great like most quads. At 90 kilos it was a bit small for me sure wish they made a 90l offering. We have a local coast sailor Jerry that has broken about 2-3 1st year models but he always breaks everything he owns. Big forward and back loops a very accomplished sailor. I heard from him the 2014 boards were getting a new stronger construction.
I don't think anybody can beat the strength of Witchcraft HDD construction except maybe Flikka. |

Flikka with a 2 year GUARANTEE, that seems to be backed up in writing.
both Flikka and Witchcraft offer production boards in several constructions.
Witchy with a cult like following much like the Grateful Dead, 1 year guarantee standard construction 18 months for heavy HDD
of note these are PRODUCTION boards, both also offer customs _________________ K4 fins

I looked into getting a Witchcraft HDD and while you get 19%VAT discount and free shipping the Euro to dollar exchange rate is a killer. Around $2550 for a board. Ouch! |

the price you quote should be for around a 100L board in like you said HDD
the average price for HDD 100L Wave or Shaman or Chakra is €1851
converted is $2523, puts me into your ballpark. ( SDT would be like $2139)
Price listed for a 2014 Starboard Kode $2449MSRP
my 88L Chakra was considerably less. Its is SDT, standard construction , and stronger than Cobra offerings .
Consider that the board while a production model, is really at least a semi- custom. It would not really be a 2014, 2015 + .
