Has anyone out there in the Houston/Galveston area sailed the tanker waves in the channel? There must be some days where it sets up well or is it just a snipe hunt?

The waves in the SPID channel to Harlengen can be a shoulder high wave going for a 1,000 yards, if the winds are cooperating N or S, since the channel runs E/W.
You'd have to scope out the Houston wave for wind and wake directions.
