Ah, Cranberry Pond ... my favorite fishing spot when I was a kid. Nice tune in the video.

How do the boards handle in the transition between clean ice and the light snow drifts? Do the blades cut down through the snow?

Why sail ice if unfrozen water can still be reached? .....well probably for the smooth glide.....or maybe for the speed.

Beautiful boards you new englanders are riding. Great pics. I'd love to hear about the nuances between the different truck set ups. Like stear-ability vs straight line control. Wider front blade spacing as compared to narrow.
Some of those look like stock Freeskate set ups, and then the others are more elaborate. The pre curved decks are graceful.

To answer Justall, they transition well depending on the set up of the drift. An inch or two of fluffy stuff and you don't even notice. A couple inches of wind hardened drift can stop you in your tracks. Anything in-between that you can be ready for with some knee bend. More than a couple inches of snow and it will slow you a lot, and you will accumulate snow on the board.

The board I ride has blades fixed by one bolt to the truck axle, and then threaded rod between the blades to stabilize and keep everything parallel. I imagine my set up allows for independent blade adjustment over bumpy stuff where maybe the more rigidly fixed blades don't?(no experience to tell for sure on my part).
