I'm looking for opinions on Gold Beach/Pistol River winds for August.

Wind is pretty dependable in August. Swell usually flatfish. July might be more dependable but it's windy in August. If the draught continues should be real windy. Usually 4.2 and 4.7 at the Rock maybe 5.3 at Gold Beach . Air temps in 70's water around 50 but can range from about 48 to 60. Usually several sailors around so come on down.

Thanks for the input. Family has a house rented for a two week vacation in Aug. I'm in the SF Bay and questioning the logic in leaving the peak of the season here.
It's been about a decade since I sailed Pistol. So, maybe I can break that streak this year. Gorge trip planned for July, so an August Gold Beach trip might be just right.
