Oh, love a duck! Don't remind me of the British Motor Cycle Industry Pueno.

Lucas, millar, safe to travel at 20 m.p.h. at night, provided your battery could take the strain of their useless dynamos! Trouble was, my Square Four could hit the ton - ah. Impetuous and fearless (and stupid) youth!!

Now, there's a true classic!! Though I think they had an overheating problem in the middle.

Lotus Elise.
Toyota motor runs like top.
British electrics burned up resistor pack at 6000 miles took 15 hours labor to access and two minutes to replace.

Very little steel anywhere so it weighs 1870 lbs. Glued alum frame.

Good idea, or bad idea? Views on that differ!

While the companies might be Japanese, French, German, or soon Chinese, the fact remains that the companies will employ millions of Brits who will spend their money on British goods, live in British towns and cities, pay British taxes...

Far better for Britain to have the factories on home soil than in Japan, France, Germany, or China.

Hate to shock you, but you just described how "trickle down" works.
It's just basic rudimentary commerce, we can't live w/o it.

Christmas shopping volume the worst since 2008. On the (temporary) bright side, huge discounts are booming as merchants risk their futures to boost cash flow. Meanwhile, Wall Street and Big Money are making even more money as taxes and Bernanke Bucks pump up the stock market artificially. What good does that do for the "real people" living paycheck to paycheck? And what will happen when wealthy Europeans, who are moving their cash into the U.S. market to escape wealth confiscation by the Euro banks, encounter similar threats from the U.S. government and banks and pull out from there?

I guess you're right.

When Mitt buys a company, turns off the lights, lays off American workers, and sends all the production to China, our American dollars "trickle down" to the Chinese businessmen while the workers get a bowl of rice for the their 12-hour, 7-day/wk jobs.

And BTW, as you no doubt know, that's not Reagan's definition of "trickle down.")

Geez, Mikey, sounds like you should rush right out and buy guns and gold.

Get a new tinfoil hat, too. Yours is a bit worn from beating your head against the wall.

You mean the bull market started by Bush but ruined by Obama? Wink
