Never one to admit a mistake, a corrupt source--or GOP politician. Never one to make a reasoned argument about the President instead of an ad hominem attack. Retract your fangs, viper.

Ahh, what the Archbishop has been up to in San Francisco:

Quote:
In order to prevent homeless people from sleeping outside of Saint Mary’s Cathedral, the Archdiocese of San Francisco installed a system that dumps water onto the ground near its sheltered doorways, where people tend to rest at night.

On Wednesday, after facing substantial backlash for the deterrent, the archdiocese announced that the system will be removed “by the end of the day.”

In the statement, the archdiocese said it initially decided to install the controversial system “after learning from city resources” that similar deterrents were “commonly used in the Financial District” in San Francisco to “avoid the situation where needles, feces and other dangerous items were regularly being left in these hidden doorways.”

In strict keeping with the Proverbs:
Quote:

Whoever oppresses a poor man insults his Maker, but he who is generous to the needy honors him.

Nothing quite like Catholic conservatives.

this Pope is amazing again....

http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/a-test-of-faith-pope-francis-puts-2016-gop-hopefuls-on-the-defensive/2015/06/18/bc3af116-15d2-11e5-9518-f9e0a8959f32_story.html?wpisrc=nl_headlines&wpmm=1

“The Earth, our home, is beginning to look more and more like an immense pile of filth,” Francis wrote.

Quote:
Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) has chided the pope for helping broker President Obama’s deal to normalize U.S. relations with Cuba. And when the pope expressed support for the theory of evolution, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R) declined to comment on whether that would affect his support for a bill allowing his state’s schools to teach creationism.

note the right wing did not show their outrage in the election when the church directly attacked a democrat running for president. But the right wing are already preaching their victimization about the Pope coming to the USA and engaging in what they say is politics.

Quote:
Until recently, Catholic Democratic politicians have more often been the ones on the defensive against church leaders, particularly over abortion. In 2004, the archbishop of St. Louis warned Democratic presidential nominee John F. Kerry, an abortion-rights supporter, “not to present himself for Communion” — an ostracism that canon law reserves for “those who obstinately persist in manifest grave sin.”

Yanis Varoufakis, the Greek finance minister, said his country is on "war-footing" and accused the eurozone of trying to terrify Greek voters into submission.

Yanis Varoufakis

"What they're doing with Greece has a name: terrorism. Why have they forced us to close the banks? To frighten people. It's about spreading terror," he told El Mundo.

So let me get this straight. If the hard working Germans don't want to spend any more of their money on the lazy socialist Greeks, this means war? Hahahaha The Europeans forced them to close banks? It wasn't their own Obama social agenda?

Germany is way more socialist by your analogy. Average vacation is what about 8 weeks a year.... Free healtcare, free education including university, unions benefits and pay is higher, and much larger percentage of population in unions than USA. Yep these unions destroying business like VW, Audi, Mercedes, Porsche.

Again all the things right wing idiots say are not possible...

Do you ever think before you spout your stupidity-hate propaganda? you are an embarrassment to the US educational system. and a perfect example to the world of that "rude and ignorant" american they laugh about all the time.

Free healthcare?
Actually a two tier system for the "have" and the "have nots"
Salaried workers and employees below the relatively high income threshold of almost 50,000 Euros per year are automatically enrolled into one of currently around 130 public non-profit "sickness funds" at common rates for all members, and is paid for with joint employer-employee contributions.

Besides the "Statutory Health Insurance" (Gesetzliche Krankenversicherung) covering the vast majority of residents, the better off with a yearly income above almost €50,000 (USD 53,430), students and civil servants for complementary coverage can opt for private health insurance (about 11 % of the population).

Free education?

As stated before, you should probably do some research into the German work ethics, the work environment, national pride, and how unions and business work with one another before making comparisons to North America.

'Whatever oppresses the poor man also insults the maker.'

I doubt the word 'exploits' was intended to be interpreted as, taking steps to prevent drug addicts from fouling and dropping contaminated needles in church doorways. Or, that passing laws to deprive addicts (thereby causing them misery) of a ready supply of drugs, and the placing of offenders into rehab to try and save them from themselves, is insulting the maker.

If the well to do who claim to feel so sympathetic to the plight of those afflicted would open the doors of their own houses to feed and shelter them in an attempt to wean them off their drugs (do as I do etc), their criticism would seem more genuine, and less like mere point scoring.
