keycocker: "angry white men"

I have no comment on that, I'll just let you own that racist opinion.

boggsman: "If I was a raging lunatic Repub, and dinner was over, what could be better than pounding a six of BUD, and watching Sarah Palin...."

That would be the same woman that Martin Bashir from MSNBC said that somebody should defecate into her mouth. And he still has his job.
I'll let you own him and his network.

mac: "You obviously prefer having your prejudices reinforced instead of working to achieve a deeper understanding of the facts and causes, or having your preconceived notions challenged."

But yet I'm here,,,,,,,,,, challenging your reinforcements, we all have reinforcements, even you.
I'll try one more time.....
Do you believe that majority of the news viewing public are a bunch of fools?

I will say that watching Fox News is a foolish waste of time.

Ignoring previous responses and the rules of logic, NW again posts a nonsensical question:

"Do you believe that majority of the news viewing public are a bunch of
fools?"

No. I believe that people who primarily get their news from television are a bit lazy, whether they watch Fox or CNN or MSNBC. That certainly reflects a bias--I primarily get my news from several newspapers, augmented by 4 different magazines that I read regularly. But I am old, and old school.

I think you are rationalizing your choice when you get all excited about the market share edge that Fox has--and ignoring analytical thinking. The largely Republican audience that watches Fox is far more monolithic in their thinking and values than those who are moderate or left leaning in their politics. So while Fox captures 8%, and CNN 7%, there is little statistical significance in the difference between the two, and the larger issue--which seems to go over your head repeatedly--is how does the other 85% get their news and analysis?

Quote:
A new Gallup poll released Monday confirms Fox News' status as perhaps the most powerful brand name in news, while also promoting the still-valuable role television plays in how Americans get their news.

Most Americans (55%) turn to television as their "main source of news about current events in the U.S. and around the world," and 8% of those say they turn to Fox News. That makes Fox the most popular specific brand name for news. CNN comes in a close second, as 7% of Americans say they turn to the network for their news. MSNBC, meanwhile, sits far down the list and didn't warrant a further demographic breakdown from Gallup.

Beyond Fox and CNN, brand names no longer dominate the news landscape. No more than 1% of Americans say they get their news from MSNBC, ABC, NBC, BBC, or CBS. The non-specific newspaper (6%) and radio (4%) both also lagged well behind the television category.

A further breakdown of the networks in the poll clearly reveals Fox News' strength as the conservative and Republican network of choice. 67% of people who turn to Fox News as their primary source identify as Republican, and that number jumps to 94% if Republican "leaners" are included.

CNN, meanwhile, is where self-described moderates and Democrats turn for news. Of the responders who said CNN was their primary source, 51% were moderate, and 63% at least leaned Democratic.

MSNBC, though, couldn't be further broken down demographically because not enough people said they watch it as their primary source of news.

Thank you for letting me own something that belongs to the GOP leadership and those who love them.
Here's the original quote from GOP leader Lindsey Graham on the future of the Republican Party.
"We are not generating enough angry white guys to stay in business for the long term"

On that same Pew site you will find that 66%of viewers of Hannity for example, are over 65.
Most viewers of Msnbc are women, it says.but Foxes demographics are Graham's "angry old white guys"

Be honest NW. You only find it racist when I quote it. When your leaders say it you consider it to be OK.
I ended my lifelong support of the GOP when they abandoned most Americans and chose to be the party of angry old white guys.
I don't watch Fox because I am not in that demographic.

How about you.? Lots of angry posts esp.when the educated folks here point out your material was faked up to fool you long before you chose it present here.

Why do you suggest that the majority of news viewing folks are fools?
No other person here has said that.
I think those who believe Talk Radio is true are fools.
I think those who read the Drudge report and believe most of it are being fooled.
I think those who believed that Auers story were being fooled, and some still repeated it after they found out it was faked.
The only fools were those who came to a conclusion about Obama from those fake facts, and didn't change that opinion when they found they were being misled.
