Hey Gang,

Time to think about warm water, warm wind and big swell this winter. Use the the Baja Guide link to the left of most pages for updates starting Oct. 1.

I spent many a 6 a.m. at Port Hueneme in port tack and 60 mph winds in my youth. You have to get there early, be ready for large surf and have a lot of rubber on for the cold water.

If you've ever seen one of those wind machines that distort the guys face. That is how you look in Santa Ana's at Hueneme. Remember, it is side off with the emphasis on OFF, and a port tack.
