Courtesy Devin Nunes, Republican.

Oh a good morning for those who think the Tea Party needs to be put permanently in a tea caddy to dry out. How sweet it is to see that most of the country, and about half the Republicans, realize that without Nancy Pelosi the economy would be in the toilet again this morning. What is it about the Texas water that they keep sending politicians to Washington that are too ideological, and stupid, to learn from their mistakes. Phil Gramm, author of the energy and financial deregulation bills was responsible for the evaporation of over $10 trillion from the world economy. Georgie boy spent trillions to try to stabilize the Middle East for oil companies--worse than ever. And now Ted Cruz shows up to split the Republican Party in two in order to guarantee him the hard right money, and few votes, as he starts his run for President in 2016. I can see the ads now--"I do not like them, Sam I am." A figure of towering dignity and competence, eh?

Ah, but we should look forward you righties say. Indeed, to the new Senator from New Jersey, Corey Booker, who won by 13% points over the hand picked hard right opponent. In the state where the governor is a potential presidential candidate? The governor who is so afraid of Booker that he scheduled two elections to avoid being on the ballot at the same time? In the Republican world, fiscal responsibility loses to ambition, every time.

John McCain is too cranky and independent (not maverick) to be considered as presidential material. There is, of course, that judgment thing over the VP candidate. But he has tried, with integrity, to reform campaign processes. And his comment last night that this was shameful was spot on.

The idea, championed by some of the more extreme right here, that we should put amateurs in Congress, has now been tried. For the good of the country, we need to retire the most tin hat of the Tea brigade. They've had their 15 minutes of fame. They demonstrated that they don't know how to govern, and they have no understanding of political strategy. We've had enough of fake conservatives who don't really want smaller government, they want a government that supports their churches and grievances. They've attacked their own party members as RINO's, and made the tent smaller, not larger. To put a cap on Nunes comment--they can't even pack a suicide vest properly. When they pulled the pin they discovered that the entire force of the explosion was directed against the GOP.

Thank you Reid, McConnell, and yes, Nancy Pelosi.
