The spin master makes a case for the sleazy Rep just convicted being the ex governor of Virginia:
Quote: | RICHMOND — A federal jury on Thursday found former Virginia governor Robert F. McDonnell and his wife, Maureen, guilty of public corruption — sending an emphatic message that they believed the couple sold the office once occupied by Patrick Henry and Thomas Jefferson to a free-spending Richmond businessman for golf outings, lavish vacations and $120,000 in sweetheart loans.
After three days of deliberations, the seven men and five women who heard weeks of gripping testimony about the McDonnells’ alleged misdeeds unanimously found that the couple conspired to lend the prestige of the governor’s office to Jonnie R. Williams Sr. in a nefarious exchange for his largesse. |
He crows: Boggsy and Berkeley both right on the same day!!
Does that mean both Virginia and blind pigs are due? |

mac, not really sure what your obsession with the story of the ex gov. of Va. has to do with the title of this thread. I haven't really followed that story close enough to see if it relates.
But on the surface, it seems to relate about as much as the imprisonment of Ray Nagin, the ex mayor of New Orleans, which isn't much.

For the logic challenged: many of those who favor only military solutions have a financial interest in the arms manufacturing businesses. Many of them--vastly disproportionate to population--are in Virginia, so they can keep the campaign contributions rolling in.
New Orleans and Louisiana politics have long been corrupt, both parties are implicated. It is disgraceful. Has Virginia become Louisiana? Is it because of arms manufacturing?
I guess the blind pig beat Virginia to the kernel of truth. |

In a Video Taken Right After Shooting, 2 New Witnesses State Michael Brown Had His Hands Up
http://www.cnn.com/video/data/2.0/video/us/2014/09/10/ac-dnt-kaye-new-michael-brown-witness.cnn.html
Quote: | A newly surfaced cell-phone video shows two witnesses reacting in real time to the fatal police shooting of Michael Brown. In the clip and in subsequent interviews with CNN, the witnesses say that the teenager was retreating with his hands up when officer Darren Wilson fired at him.
The two men, whose identities have not been revealed, were contractors standing an estimated 50 feet from the spot where Wilson shot Brown. The video was taken in the moments immediately following the shooting.
“He had his fucking hands up,” says one man in the video, raising his own hands above his head. "The cop didn't say get on the ground. He just kept shooting.” He later told CNN that about 30 seconds elapsed between the first shot and subsequent ones. |
