Stevenbard...it really is a small group of Tea Partiers that are holding the Republican Party hostage.

The US debt has been a large part of our economy for a long time.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:US_Federal_Debt_as_Percent_of_GDP_by_President.jpg

We cannot default on the debt. Are you serious? We do need to get the deficits under control. Delaying the ACA is not one of the ways...at least according to the CBO. What we do need to do is pay for our frickin wars, reign in medical UNIT costs, and delay SS benefits.

As a side note...your hero, Reagan, doesn't look so good on that chart.

It is Obama who is holding the congress hostage. He could go down there and have a meeting of the minds.

Today the Washington mall is open again. Not for WW2 vets, not for Vietnam vets. For illegals who are rallying on the mall.

Today it was reported that Warren Buffet made over 10 billion in the financial crisis, and received 400 billion in federal money to prop up his companies during the crisis.

In the mean time, they are asking doctors to see more patients and charge them less money.

Yes, I want the bankers to suffer. I don't want small business to suffer. I don't want the average worker to suffer while the mega corporations loot what's left of the treasury.

And Chandler, you don't need an MBA to see what's happening. You need an open mind, and an understanding of world history and human nature.

No. The House started by trying to defund the ACA because of some personal vendetta. I have yet to hear a coherent argument from any of these guys as to why they see the ACA causing financial collapse.

You guys all need a lesson on healthcare economics and government...

The ACA will make life better and healthier for very many mainstream, middle, and lower income families.

The republicans are afraid of that because it will persuade many, many people and many young adults (who would otherwise have no health care options) to vote democratic in future elections.

The collapse is in salaries, jobs, and labor participation. 90% of all new jobs are part time. (under 30 hours to be specific) Average family income down by 6%. And labor participation at an all time low. This is caused by bad policy.

You don't hear Buffet complaining do you? The pharmaceutical and mega healthcare companies stocks are skyrocketing.

The house is not trying to defund the ACA. They are trying to postpone it for a year, and remove all the exemptions. I assume you think it would collapse if the unions and corporations lost their exemptions....

No..the ACA would not collapse because the employer mandate is delayed. It is a small part do the total ACA. That is why it WAS delayed. The "exemption" for government employees is just BS designed to confuse (job well done). Unions are afraid they will lose their advantage in the health care market. So be it. Read Dick Lamms book...we cannot afford business as usual in the health care market place.

I meant it would collapse because the 1200 exempt organizations would revolt.

Bard, you're hopeless. You are a perfect example of someone who has been hanging out in the wrong places picking up bad ideas . The way things are going, your hate list will soon equal isobars'.

Sorry Bard. Because the Department of HHS decided to delay the minimum plan requirements for corporations because they have been unable to get their sh-t together is not a conspiracy...it is being a responsive government and not enforcing the rule of the law but instead working WITH the businesses. Isn't that what we want?

Steve...do you really think the Rethugs would be happy to fund the ACA in ONE year, if delayed? Obama would be nuts to cave on that sucker's bet.
