I sailed out at Tashmoo Lake on the Vineyard last Sat. into Vineyard Sound. I had a blast. I sailed there back in 1991.
Started on a 5.3m and then had to rig down to a 4.7m lit!! They were doing an around the island race on big sailboats so it was fun buzzing the boats as they went buy and jumping the wakes. They were heading straight down wind so the were flying spinnaker's and putting up some good wakes for sailboats.
No one else windsurfing and the people on the beach looked like they have never seen shortboard sailing before Shocked
Fun stuff.

Tashmoo's a fantastic spot but not very popular since sailing to Middle Ground may freak people out. I guess that's why many sail in Sengekontaket instead of Cow Bay? I don't get it.

Glad you had a good time and gave it the ripping it deserves.

Didn't they have a windsurfing race around The Vineyard years ago?

Yes, the Martha's Vineyard Windsurfing Challenge ran for 20 consecutive years. Nevin Sayre started it and helped organize all those races, I ran it for about 6 years. The event raised well over $150,000 for Martha's Vineyard Community Services, the umbrella social service provider on the Island.

Of less significance, the Challenge remains the longest single-leg windsurfing race ever held.

Cool. Any issue bringing equipment on the ferry?
