got in two wing foiling days at Cabrillo Beach in LA this week (Tuesday & Thursday). Winds were light, but I guess that's what foils are for. A bit more challenging winging in the open ocean as opposed to the flat waters of candlestick. Also the chopswell makes it harder to get going, and I don't seem to be able to harness the incoming swell/waves the way I can with windsurf foiling to get going.

I did make five consecutive jibes today which was really awesome! I think that run accounted for more than half the jibes I made the entire day! Previous record was two jibes in one day.

Stoked!

Also, it was like 75-80 degrees in LA. Quite pleasant. Cabrillo also has grass rigging and hot showers.

Bert,
My door is 6'2"x31", 4.5" with a little rocker in the nose flat bottom to a single concave (like a waterski). The board pops up quick so I think the idea worked? This is my first and last square nose as when I dip the noise during a turn it sprays water right into my face.

SPQR,
Yea the 3/2 was to thin after 1.5 hours I was chilled to the bone. new suits on there way.

With foiling the board is only a launch platform the details aren't as important as a board with a fin. For my style of free riding I'm looking for a small as I can get. All the boards for this year are cheap test builds (throw aways) I have 21 hours into the the double ender my goal is to get my time down to 16 per board . My shaping shack is at work so I work 2 to 2.5 hours at a time per step after work there are 7 steps in these cheap build. Rapid Response is my idea this year 6 to 8 boards designs.

The board on the rack is 4'9' x 28

Very interesting day at the Stick. The wind is somehow up and we have the following line up:

Devin (180-190 lbs) with large freeride board and 8.0-8.5 Ezzy sail
DvCali (160 lbs) with slalom board and 6.5 ACX
Robert (200+ lbs) with Moses 720 wing (the Balz special, a fast one) and 5.4 NP Atlas

We start at around 1:30-2 and we all doing fine ... for maybe 30'. Then the wind drops and Devin starts to get off the plane, following not much later by DvCali. Robert keeps going. D and D keep slogging, planing, slogging. Wind comes back a bit, but it is in very narrow corridor. Robert keeps going. D & D give up. Devin leaves.

Second round. DvCali takes his foil out, switching sails with Robert. so I am now on 5.4 he is using my ACX 6.5. Wind is way down but we are both doing fine (I put in some of my best runs ever ) all the way to Sierra Point ... in ridiculously weak winds.

Moral of the story? Robert sails all afternoon, and I do too when I take my Flikka out. Foil IS a game changer! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
