Hammered in Berkeley on a 6.8 and a big board. Gusts to 30. But not just gusts, big pulses of wind. Completely treacherous. |

Meanwhile Isabel was insanely treacherously mellow on a 6.3! |

Paradise at Crissy? Second day of perfect 5.0 conditions, sailed mostly around the North tower in almost flat conditions besides the bizarro little chop and water upsurges at the "washing machine". Would have been great with a 6.6 and slalom board to do speed runs.
Sunny, blue, steady winds ... what more to ask? |

For interest a - Folsom Lake evening session - had "good" wind this past week, with Wed being the best. First Gopro and hit a good angle on the helmet by luck..

Hi Howzit,
I thought Folsom would be a nearly empty with the drought. I am surprised to see so much water in it. What is the water temperature?

Three folk out. Blowing 25 and going to 30 at times. All on 4.7s. One said they should have been on a 4.2. I was on a 5.8 from having rigged early when the inside wind was lighter. Wind came up while rigging. Went out with it anyway and was worked in just two runs, so went and rigged the 4.7 and JP FSW 91 L.
Water color was absolutely beautiful Water was warm. Wind was warm. |

Folsom Is getting low fast - somedays I estimate
It drops 3-4 feet. Good news for us as at low levels they kick out the speed/wake boat - or have a 5 mphspeedl limit So it's 'ours' to share with kiters, Come Oct/Nov it's nearly dry and even windsurfers loose fins, |
