Nice evening/afternoon at Washoe Mudhole State Park. Water continues to drop; was chest deep now more like above the belly button. Which means walking ever farther out and sailing farther out. 6 windsurfers yesterday on 4.7 to 5.7 (5.7 is me, as I am built like W. C. Fields). About 10 kiters pretending to have fun like they do. Get it while it's wet!

Just perfect! Steady wind, sun, fun rollers. Where was everyone?

Thanks for the report. Avoided the traffic heading to Berkeley and sailed Isabel. A little bumpy by the marina bay launch, but otherwise very nice.

After all the kites were packed and everyone went home,
At 6:45, one windsurfer stood alone.
With a 5.7 rigged and 94 liters,
He stepped off the ramp into the unknown.
Would there be enough wind?
Was the ebb kicking in?
Was he going to sail?
Or, have to swim?
Patience pays dividends
With golden evening light
Just a few yard out
He took off and took flight
With fog packed down hard
Spilling though the gap like cream
He danced on water
You might see in a dream
Red orange and rolling
Smooth and forgiving
One windsurfer in tune
In the moment and living

All Right! Gerritt the poet! Must have been a good session to bring that out of you. I like those lighter wind sessions too at 3rd, and evening golden light, nice! It's smoother water and less frenetic action compared to dealing with chop when OP'd. Sorry I missed out on the secret sesh.

Northwave 5.2 at San Leandro marina.
3 on the water a huge crowd for SL ...lol
Great spot when the peninsula is SW. Btw.
Small following of locals, good parking and rigging.
The launch well....let's just say it gets you in the water
Oakland airport reading over 15 makes it worth a look.
Good on all tides except a -.50 ft.

Sherman Island Access enjoyed a windy ebb tide in the morning. Image is of pro windsurfer Derek Rijff in the late afternoon flood.

Arrived 1:30 It almost looked to Windy to sail at first.
Rigged a 4.2 with ExoWave 105 and stayed on it till 5:30.
This is the first filled in day without nasty gusts I have had
this year I think. Water level is borderline low I didn't hit anything
but was nervous and when I stopped sometimes I was in
ankle deep stuff. 5 or 6 others there and couple of late arrivals.
Surface Weeds are not to bad but I would advise a weed fin
it looks like they have and early start with all the Sunshine
we have been having.
May repeat tomorrow.
Tony Cox on 4.7

Gave Berkeley a shot, but wind was weak - packed up and went to Isabel -windy till just past 4, a bit gusty, but still fun. Only 2 windsurfers and the usual flock of kiters.

The late ebb session 7pm to sunset Tuesday night at 3rd, light wind but still great fun. Just have to go big to enjoy it, 5.3/106 plenty for me, haha, we are so spoiled! Only two others out. A fourth visiting sailor did not venture out even though it looked good to him. He was concerned that nobody was out, I explained that unless it was at least 5.0 conditions, most locals can't be bothered to sail.
