It was not too bad indeed. I slogged almost all the way in, the new O'Neil 5.5 is toasty to swim in, and the riffraff is easy to climb up

I just spoke to a buddy who launched at TI and like you thought it was windier than it was. He went 82 ltr wave board with a 21cm swept back wave fin. Oopps!! He sailed down to the Toll Plaza and luckily got a ride back with someone who was windsurfing from there with all the kiters. |
Thanks! At least I had a 28 fin I did feel a bit silly at some point!!!!!

I remember in the early 2000's, any given day had 35+ sailors at TI.
Weekends add 20.
On lighter days, a whole procession of sailors walking Northward along the boulders. Some sailors came in at the Sailing Club.
They said it was very zen.

Lopez again today. 5 WS foils and 1 wing out in mid teens, sunny skies and low 70's. 2 mil suit is fine now and seeing others changing to similar.

Lopez, rinse and repeat. Everybody left early before it got good so I had it all to myself. Good IW forecast helped me stay later!

I went to the Stick at 2 pm today (4/15) to finally do the wing thing and was shocked to see how bad things are..it is like a scene from Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome as someone described. Went to Oysters and to find no parking allowed, so I parked further back by the Yacht club and practiced with the wing on the grassy slope. Thought about walking my gear to the ramp for my first wing foil session, but some hard stares from the Harbormaster security guys told me that would not be wise.

That picture from Candlestick is upsetting. You should drive down Haight Street or thru the Tenderloin right now to see what happens when the cops retreat and stop enforcing the law. Really sad.
