No wind at Lake Tahoe this morning so drove home and windsurfed Natural Bridges. Very good session on my Naish Titan and Ezzy 7.0. One other windsurfer out on a 6.3.
Bert, May your surgery go perfectly and your new knee be amazing! |

Thanks windward.., old age does catch up with us ( I turn 68 on October 10 ). I'm like a 1968 Shelby Mustang.. the body still looks strong, but have suspension issues with the lower vertebrae discs and arthritic knees. Not likely to reach my goal of 200 sessions for the year.
Foiled Friday at Coyote on a 5.0 at 1 pm. Funny how I don't feel any knee pain until I'm out of the water.

Did the Stick on Saturday on a 4.7 around 2 pm. Foiled to Hunters Pt to Sierra. I was headed to Oysters but ran into a dead zone so I turned back. Wind picked up to 16-17 on the way back to the Stick where about a dozen windsurfers were getting ready. It's my 70th day on the foil and 140 sessions overall for this year. |

First one out at Coyote on a 4.5 with the wind at 15 on the inside and 25 outside. Foiled past the channel markers 6 and 7 looking for lighter winds beyond the markers so that I could crank a few foil jibes. Still blowing 20-25 six miles out so I came back. The trip back took so long because my Slingshot F1 foil is as slow a slug and seems to have only one gear. Already thinking about a faster foil for next year like the one that Chris Radkowski (F4 foils) is developing and doing test runs on in the Bay. He appears to be going as fast as the kiters on foils. |

Looked windier than yesterday I was having trouble deciding between
a 5.3 and 4.7 . One run on the 5.3 it was a little to lively changed to 4.7.
4.7 from 3 pm till around 5:30 . A good number of people out both days.
5.6 on Saturday. Gusty at times today wholy at times yesterday.
Most people on low 4's and some on 3's today. |

Forecast from Godsey had me thinking the coast was the call so loaded up the gf's buggy for it. The whole coast was light until the Jerry at Princeton. Way lit on 6.5/120l @195lb. |

October surprise at the Stick:
As calendar turns to October, wind at the Stick started raging, relatively speaking . I don't remember using 4.2 the entire month of September but that was what I sailed on yesterday and today. Yesterday was from powered to over-powered. Today was OK for a while then I have to baggy rig my sail the later part and jibed on gust instead of lull. I often jibe on lull at the stick most days. Around 10 sailors out. BTW, sensor readings are off a lot this year. |
