Weird how only 5 sailiors besides CSC and Cal Ventures today Sat.
Well powered 6.0, 95 liters, very flat water and steady wind. I guess PtIsa and Sherman were crowded today.

We all had our own personal 40 acres today at Isabel. Hardly crowded.

San Luis Res 8/19/2017
Got there about 1pm lightly capping with sunglasses
but the upper lake was cranking
Put up a 5.6 lasted about an hour on that went down to
5.3 hung on till 4:30 should have been on a 4.7 and a small
board by then but I didn't bring it.(the small board that is)
Still weed free and I was the only one out though it looked like
there were a few on the Mediros side.
It was pretty filled in maybe slightly gusty but manageable.

Also don't believe the South Direction form the iws sensor its wrong.
Look at the 152 Sensor for the correct direction the iws Sensor direction
is on only right about half the time.

Rio provides thrills as usual. The common discussion surrounds the effects of the army of wind turbine's effects on the wind up and down the river. There are certainly times where the wind is at the park and Access and absent at the Sign/Rio Viento. However it becomes clear that at other times the wind is better at the downriver sites. Powerlines seems unusable now though. However it works, it's not simple. No one I've talked to feels they understand it but clearly there has been a change.

Like a frequent flyer I foil just about everyday now. I'm aiming for a hundred sessions on the foil before the end of this season. Yesterday at the Stick on a 5.3 when the wind was 13-14 from the west and today at Treasure Island on a 4.2 where the wind was 16-17 at the point and 20 near Angel Island. To not feel any water turbulence or chop while sailing is clearly good for my old arthritic knees Smile

Berkeley Sunday 5.8 and 93 Freewave, then 86 3S.
Kinda choppy at 3, smoothing down nicely by 4 into slalom conditions.
Winds slightly W, so cross chop heading out, the riding swells back towards the docks.
Makes me feel young, to be able to go full out in the confused chop, when everyone else is hesitant and sheeting out.
REALLY dead near the docks, and at 160 lbs., a real balancing act to make it in and out repeatedly with 92 and 86 liter boards.

Strong 6.0 between 3pm and 5 pm could have been on a 5.3 for
some of it. Nicely filled in (the wind was w to wsw on the water all
the time.)
exocet cross 117 29cm fin 220lbs. (no weed problems)
It took awhile to get going I expect the same tommrow.
My own personnel lake again.
Trying to make up for the late season start.

Foiling at Palo Alto on a 5.3 Naish in about 13-14 mph wind at high tide. Did 3 round trips to the Newark side of the South Bay. Pretty much able to keep the board 2 feet above the water with very little height fluctuation these days. I still look like a dork on my foil jibes..it's like being on ice skates. Chris Radkowski ( F4 Foils) was also foiling at PA..he makes it look easy.
