Continuing the most boring season in memory a nice day at the Stick.

I get out early at 2 pm with the Patrik and HSM 6.6 race. Nobody around. The fog is lurking and when it comes closer it gets a bit wild. I go from powered to VERY powered up. The GPS is wonderful as usual and I wish I brought my gps-watch because it really pushes the board into its 6-th gear. After a season of use I am familiar enough with the board and sail to know that I broke 30 knots but by how much ... who knows Sad

Nino, Vasco, Robert and Bob show up around 3 but the wind is getting even stranger. By the time I am getting out at 4 it gets weaker, then comes back a bit when I leave Very Happy

AARP sailing at Shoreline Park Lake in 5-10 mph wind. I rigged a 6.6 Hucker/110L Firemove and subplaned for an hour or so. About was as much fun as waterboarding Sad Did do some lightwind tacking/backwind exercises. Actually, I do Shoreline periodically to relax, recharge, and appreciate all the good sailing that the bay area offers us. I can see myself sailing Shoreline more as I get older. I probably will need to mount a drool cup on my mast by then Laughing

Fun cruise at Berkeley Sat.
6.0, RRD FSW 100, 95% planing, flat water, why use a FSW board?

Pretty good sailing over parts of the last 3 weeks at 3rd. And this week, being the best, with 5.8 in trunks on Tuesday through 4.5 high wind blowout on Saturday. Famous 3rd Ave ebb tide swell is always fun.

Special times culminated Saturday evening with strong wind, early fall lighting on the water, and big clean sets of rollers moving down the channel. That was Bay windsurfing Nirvana. I always enjoy grabbing a last few rides, in an otherwise empty channel, as the sun sets. Great way to start October! Thank you September, long live October!

C grade session at Oyster on a 6.2/110L. Didn't plane until I got close to Tigers and even then, the wind was not all that great. I might have also overtensioned the sail, thinking that the wind would be much stronger at Tigers. Oh well, it is the fall season and it might be slim pickings from this point on. Getting back to the Oyster launch was especially difficult today. Glad I'm proficient at slogging, tacking, and uphauling.

Nice October day at the Stick, out at 3:45 with the GPS 6.6 and Isonic 111 the wind is actually up to a comfortable and unexpected powered up. It occasionally opens up almost to Sierra Point and I cruise around 100% planing for an hour plus enjoying the easy cruising. Then it is time to pack up. Only Louis out doing tacks with his 5.0. Very Happy

Fun 5.0 and 86 3S day at Berkeley on Sunday. Surprisingly solid, filled almost to the docks, lumpy, but no good jumps.

That looks like a typical late summer day at Berkeley - except the wind came back - no swimming. Very Happy Actually, a small storm cell rolled thru and there were a few minutes of thunder, lightning and even some hail.
