Davide had so much fun that he is living one day ahead of real time.
I heard the cops threaten to ticket anyone parking on the left side of the "No Parking Anytime sign" some time passed 6PM yesterday. I'm not aware of the shooting but I read the side-show crowd tried to run over the cops on July 1 and really pissed them off. So they are patrolling the area more often.
Yeah, wind was nice and steady yesterday from 4:15 to 5:30PM. One lady, a longtime regular at Berkeley - first time Stick, said she had the best session ever. I was only having fun on my 5.0/100.
Took a peek at the sensor reading for today and can't believe the average was only 20mph. We had may be 15+ sailors, including some 200lb guys, sailing on low 3's up to 4.5max. you'd think the wind was better than that? |

The Stick was blowing early today. 4.2/90L from noon to 2, slightly overpowered in some spots. Need to bring my smaller board when I do the Stick. |

I sailed tomorrow because today I will have to go to the dentist
But yesterday (ok July 11) at Crissy had a glorious sight of a whale. It passed me 10 yards away on port (I had right of way but decided to let it go). It was going like a train toward the Gate. It blew twice: awesome sight! |

Sailed Coyote to break in a spanking, new Fanatic Skate 101. Rigged 4.7 but stayed close up to get a feel for the board. The board is short (228cm), pudgy 64 cm wide, feather light with a 20 cm freestyle fin. It planes fairly quickly and as it was flooding I had to learn how far to push on the fin to go upwind before spinning it out. The deck remains stable in the chop so tacking was quite easy. Did backwinding, heli's, duck's close to shore in marginal winds. Plan on getting back to doing some basic, old school freestyle.., not sure about aerials. My last attempt was a failed willy skipper over 15 years ago. Put me out of commission for a few weeks, much to my wife's consternation. If I do attempt some air moves i'll surely wear a helmet and codpiece |

Rocking today at the 4 and 6 buoys and NW corner of TI. 4.2 was plenty for me. |

After the whale encounter at Crissy a day at the Stick that delivers a nice 3.7-4.5. Unfortunately I am with the GPS 6.0 and my slalom board and I soldier on first with the Patrik 100 and then with the CA 52. Rock solid in the overpowered conditions but every jibe is a real workout and I get tired fast. Solution is to go out for half hour, rest and then go out again, but I am longing for my FSW and a 4.3 sail!!!! Speed is up but not that much, still below 30 knots with a max 2" of 29.7 ... I don't seem to be able to go faster than that at the Stick.
Fred is out with a 6.0 RAF with apparently no problems ... I think he is made of a different material |

Berkeley Sat. 5.2 and 84 Slalom from 2:40 to 4:10, and I got tired legs from pushing a light slalom board through the weirdo chop from slight Westerly direction winds. I smarter me would have just used an 84 FSW and ride relaxed and catch free. But I"m the other one. |
